Affirmative

Subject + is/are/am + VI (ing) + object

Example:

  1. Ram is going to school.
  2. They are playing football.
  3. You are writing a letter.
  4. I am drinking water.

Negative

Subject + is/are/am + not + VI (ing) + object

Example:

  1. Ram is not going to school.
  2. They are not playing football.
  3. You are not writing a letter.
  4. I am not drinking water.

Interrogative

Is/Are/Am + subject + VI (ing) + object?

Example:

  1. Is ram going to school?
  2. Are playing football?
  3. Are writing a letter?
  4. Am I drinking water?

Negative Interrogative

Is/Are/Am + subject + not + VI (ing) + object?

Example:

  1. Is he not going to school?

Interrogative with “Wh-word”
